Privacy Policy

Your privacy is at the core of Memo Notepad. We believe your thoughts should remain yours alone.

1. Data Storage (Local-First)

Memo Notepad is a "local-first" web application. All memos and diary entries you create are stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage. We do not maintain any database or cloud storage for your notes.

  • Your memos never leave your device.
  • We cannot read, access, or recover your memos.
  • Deleting your browser cache or history may delete your memos unless you have exported them.

2. Information We Collect

Because there is no account registration, we do not collect personal information such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers. Our website may use basic, anonymized analytical tools to understand general traffic patterns (e.g., page views), but this data is not linked to your individual memos.

3. Advertising, Cookies & Third-Party Services

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on our website. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website and/or other websites on the Internet.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can visit www.aboutads.info to opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising.

When ads are served, advertising partners may collect information such as IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and approximate location. This information is used to deliver relevant ads, measure performance, and prevent fraud.

Important: Cookies and advertising technologies are never used to access, read, or collect the content of your memos or diary entries. Those remain stored only on your device.

For more details about how Google uses data, please see How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps and Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Security

By keeping data on your local device, we eliminate the risk of server-side data breaches. However, the security of your memos depends on the security of your device and browser. We recommend exporting your memos as .txt or .json files for extra backup.

5. Children's Privacy

Memo Notepad is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
